
Antigoni Drisbioti won the gold medal in the 35 km walk at the European Championships held in Munich. The Greek champion had a great race and was in the first position from the very beginning.
Drysbioti finished fourth at the recent World Championships held in Oregon. The 38-year-old runner finished 8th at the Tokyo Olympics.
Drysbioti managed to increase the distance from the rest of the athletes in the last kilometers of the distance. Napoleon’s athlete Kefalopoulos finished in 2:46.58 and celebrated his victory in the Greek flag.
Spaniard Raquel González was second and Victoria Madaras of Hungary was third.
Greece has won 12 gold medals at the European Championships and 30 overall.
