Social democrats and liberals on Tuesday evening at Villa Lac identified the main points of revision of the National Program of Recovery and Resilience. According to HotNews.ro sources, the issue of nominating a new defense minister has not been resolved in the coalition.
PSD President Marcel Cholaku announced on Wednesday that after the discussions in Vila-Lac, the negotiating mandate with which Prime Minister Nicolae Chouquet is going to discuss the National Recovery and Resilience Plan in Brussels has been decided. According to the PSD leader, it will be proposed to abolish the 9.4% ceiling for pensions, as well as redirect 2 billion euros from other sections to irrigation.
- Marcel Čolaku: “With certainty, this percentage of 9.4 will no longer exist in the PNRR (…) There is no upper limit in any country in Europe, so it seems right to me that this upper limit should be removed, especially because we it is impossible to assume a ceiling for the next 50 years, this is a deviation
- As you know, the Prime Minister is in Brussels today, and I reviewed with the Minister of European Funds exactly what is being reviewed and how the review was conducted. Now we hope to attract for agriculture, for irrigation more than 2 billion euros from other sections, which we did not consider extraordinary for Romania.”
Another topic discussed at Villa Lac was special pensions. The coalition intends to notify the European Commission that Romania will change the status of special pensions so that they are calculated on a contributory basis, with a minimum contribution period, and that there will no longer be a pension that exceeds earnings over a period of service. .
At the same time, Prime Minister Nikolae Chuke will have to explain to European officials the status of special military pensions. “For the time being, as per the recommendation of the World Bank, since they were caught by the Minister of Labour, Ms. Tsurkan, Mr. Sitsu and Mr. Guinea have accepted the army’s occupational pensions as special pensions. We hope that we will be able to solve this problem,” the PSD leader explained.
Regarding the appointment of a new defense minister, HotNews.ro sources claim that the situation has not been resolved. It will be recalled that the Social Democrats would like to cede the Ministry of Defense to the liberals and receive another portfolio from the government.
