Demonstrators, gathered by George Simion for a rally, were welcomed on Victory Square by Diana Shoshoake along with about 300 people. After some time, a scandal broke out, the senator shouted for the gendarmes to come and save her from Simeon’s supporters, who were trying to remove her from the improvised stage in front of the Government: “Help, help, help!”.

A maximum of 3,000 people gathered for George Simion’s protest marched from the university to Piața Victoriei, where approximately 300 people were waiting for them, led by Diana Shoshoake, who stood on a stage in the middle of the square.

“Welcome, brothers! Unity!” – this is how the senator expelled from the AUR reacted.

As Diana Shoshoake spoke into the microphone with a call for unity, the demonstrators, who had arrived at the square with George Simion, began to disperse on the sidewalks, without chanting.

“Without unity, no one will fight back, I assure you. Without unity, no government will fall. Without unity, no president will fall. Without unity, there will be no early elections,” Sosoake shouted to the spokesman, summoning Simeon to the stage.

Simeon’s men booed her, and Sosoake began to shout to the AUR leader:

  • “He brought his people along with his speakers and they make us stop talking on stage. Shame! Shame! (…)
  • This is Simon (..) A traitor remains a traitor! Simeon, Judas! Jews! Jews!
  • So they pulled out our microphones and put theirs in so we wouldn’t be allowed to speak! Is this unity, Simeone? Is this unity, traitor? Mocked the AUR, mocked the nationalist party! Shame on you, Simeon!
  • If you have the guts, Simioan, come out here on the stage, because you didn’t approve of Victoriei, you approved of the university!”.

Some of the supporters of the UPR leader came onto the stage, trying to shoot Shoshoke and take away the microphone from her: “You have been talking bad about us all day, you should not be ashamed. You made us in every way. Get off the stage.”

Diana Shoshoake began to shout to the gendarmes: “Help, help, help! Luis Lazarus was hit, the woman was hit by Mr. Andruschak. We need gendarmes! No violence!”.

Later, gendarmes appeared on the scene and removed Simeon’s supporters.
