Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Tuesday declared his army’s “rapid and powerful” progress in the south, announcing “dozens” of cities recaptured “this week” from the Russians in the region and in the east.
The Ukrainian army is making “quite fast and strong progress in the south of our country,” he said in his daily speech posted on social media, AFP and Agerpres reported.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed satisfaction that “dozens of settlements were liberated this week” in the four regions annexed by Russia at the end of last week.
In particular, he mentioned eight areas recovered by Kyiv forces in the Kherson region (in the south), from where the Russian army withdrew, according to maps presented on Tuesday by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Maps provided by Moscow, compared to the previous day’s maps, show that Russian troops have left a large number of settlements in Kherson region, especially Dudchany on the west bank of the Dnieper, in the context of which the Ukrainian army has been conducting a counteroffensive there for several weeks, so far with poor results.

The map of the Kharkiv region (northeast) shows that the Russians have left almost the entire eastern bank of the Oskil River, the last territory they still controlled in the region.
“Our soldiers do not stop. It is only a matter of time when we will expel the occupiers from all our lands,” the Ukrainian Head of State assured.
