
Coalition leaders are meeting on Wednesday at the government to discuss the measures needed to combat the drought. Budget adjustment is also on the agenda of discussions, HotNews.ro political sources claim.
The meeting takes place in the context of several regions of Romania facing drought.
In addition, Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke announced the creation of an inter-ministerial committee that will deal with the issues of climate change in agriculture and the consequences of soil drought in this field.
“I had a discussion with Minister Daea on Wednesday at the cabinet meeting and after analysis we decided that from next week we will set up an inter-ministerial committee to deal with everything that means the consequences and impact of climate change on agriculture. and, as I emphasized, the consequences of the soil drought,” said the Prime Minister.
It should be noted that the Government has not announced specific measures to combat the drought.
The National Administration of Romanian Waters (ANAR) has announced that water supply is limited in more than 200 settlements in 17 counties due to the drought, as according to the agency, the water supply is decreasing, but it is sufficient for all beneficiaries fed centrally from the surface water source.
