
More than 12,000 cases of COVID-19 have been registered over the past day. This is the highest balance in the last more than five months – on February 22, 14,000 diseases were registered. Health Minister Alexandrou Rafila said an estimated total of 70,000 cases would be reported next week, or about 10,000 cases a day.

Full balance of COVID-19 cases in Romania
- Over the last day, 12,353 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were registered, which is 7,398 more than the previous day. 2,502 new cases in 24 hours were from reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after initial infection.
- In contrast to newly confirmed cases, after retesting patients who had already tested positive, 359 people tested positive again.
Inpatients
- In specialized medical facilities, the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 3,445, which is 53 more than the previous day. Also, 215 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 11 more than the previous day. Of the 215 patients admitted to the HTP, 184 are unvaccinated.
- Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 558 are minors, 552 in wards, which is 10 less than the previous day, and 6 in intensive care, 3 more than the previous day.
How many tests were done in the last day
- Over the last day, 6,491 RT-PCR tests were conducted (3,995 – according to the case definition and medical protocol and 2,496 – according to the request) and 28,430 rapid antigen tests. To date, 13,289,361 RT-PCR tests and 10,645,260 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.

- Between 25/07/2022 (10:00) and 26/07/2022 (10:00) INSP reported 32 deaths (21 males and 11 females), with no deaths reported prior to the reference interval.
