After I saw a wonderful stage version of the story in 2017, with music, dance, with exciting scenography thanks to Dragos Bukhajar, with very good professional actors, and also with a wonderful interpreter of Mowgli (child Volodymyr Sokolovich), everything was done in the German State theater in Timisoara under the charming direction of Rezvan Mazilu, now I have the joy of meeting again thanks to a play staged in the theater queen maria Daniel Vulku from Oradea. I say joy because, in my opinion, it is not a small thing not only to see, to help you, the critic, who has not yet turned 6 and you still need the grace of God until you reach 99 (according to the creators, the production of the band fell would be between these age limits Arcade Oradean Theater), but to join the frenzy of the other almost 600 spectators present in the hall. These are children of all ages, from 2-3 years old to 15-16, if not more, parents, grandparents. And often during the applause at the end, you see the father of the small, talented, engaged performer Mowgli – Luke Bran – shouting with tears in his eyes, tears of emotion and gratitude. Bravo, Luka, my boy! Yes, indeed, well done, Luka!

It must be said that the series has a double cast and the role of Mowgli is also played by Raresh Rosu. I too hope to have the opportunity to see him.

Thus, the human cub Mowgli was found abandoned in a colorful jungle, thus born stage-wise thanks to the collaboration between director, set designer Rezvan Chendrean, engineer Sergio Domide (video production) and Nadia Attila (lighting design). The abandonment is the result of an attack by a great, evil, true professional and praiser of crime (as should be brought to the scene by Florian Szilagyi), a tiger who originally planned to devour his Mother. Mihaela Gerdan plays sensually. The findings, a family of wolves (Alexandra Pop, Angela Tanko, Georgiana Koman), adopt little Mowgli, and the she-wolf Rama becomes his second mother. In addition, the entire performance, from the prologue to the finale, both accompanied by percussionist Christian Szekely, is also a tribute to the memory of the mother.

In the name of nature, which should rule our lives, and to protect little Mowgli from the constant attacks of Shere Kahn the tiger, Bagheera the panther and Baloo the bear, played wonderfully by Cipriani Cucciu and David Constantinescu respectively, decided it was time for Mowgli to go back there , where it belongs. In the village of people.

Thus begins the initial journey, a return to nature, an opportunity for Mowgli, as well as for young and old viewers, to discover the bestiary of the jungle with the help of the narrator (Mirela Nice Lupu). From the family of elephants (Andrei Fazekas, Iulia Dinescu, Cosmin Petrus, Igor Lungu) to the snake Kaa (Karina Bunea, Armanka Serak, Tudor Manea), from the family of monkeys (Georgiana Coman, Iulia Dinescu, Carina Bunea, Consuela Edyed, Cosmin Petruț, Armanca Serac) at the head of his king (well played by Alexander Rous) to the eagles (Florian Silaghi, Andrian Locovey, Tudor Manea), as if dressed in tailcoats (costumes: Oana Chernea). Mowgli’s meeting with his mother and his previously unknown sister (Sofia Vishoyan) marks the moment of maximum emotion in the show.

All this happens with dance (choreography by Dimeni Levente, theater actor scream from a city worth visiting SILVA) and a song. The director of the series was forced to keep only some of the famous music composed by Richard M. Sherman, Robert M. Sherman and Terry Hickison due to copyright reasons, which are not always easy to obtain. He was helped by Dorin Grigutze from the municipal theater in Baia Mare, who wrote several other plays and took care of the musical training of the actors.
