
Over the last day, 967 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded, which is 248 more than the previous day, as well as two deaths. According to data sent by the Ministry of Health on Monday, both of the deceased had co-morbidities and neither had been vaccinated.
224 of the new cases are re-infected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the initial infection. In contrast to new confirmed cases, 43 people were confirmed positive after retesting patients who had already tested positive.
188 new cases were registered in Bucharest and 143 in Cluj. Fewer than 100 cases were registered in other counties and none in Vranca County.
1,704 people were hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 51 more than the previous day. Also, 127 people were hospitalized in ATZ, which is 1 more than the previous day. Of the 127 patients admitted to the HTI, 113 are unvaccinated.
Out of the total number of hospitalized, 209 are minors, 207 are in hospitals, which is 19 more than the previous day and 2 in the emergency room, the same as the previous day.
By Monday, 66,921 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 had died.
In the last day, 2 deaths (men) were registered – 1 in the age category of 30-39 years and 1 in the age category over 80 years. Both patients had co-morbidities, none of them had been vaccinated.
Over the last day, 1,389 RT-PCR tests were conducted (969 – based on case definition and medical protocol and 420 – on request) and 7,558 rapid antigen tests. To date, 13,477,328 RT-PCR tests and 11,458,818 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level. (PHOTO: Dreamstime.com)
