Last year, the SUV segment had record sales of more than 62,200 units, and APIA’s forecast points to a total of 65,200 SUVs in 2024. Volumes are expected to increase not only due to the launch of Duster 3, but also because there will be more full-fledged cars. electric SUVs.
Dacia Duster was the best-selling SUV in the country last year with over 10,700 units. Among imported brands, Hyundai Tucson found more than 3,000 customers, according to APIA data.
The share of SUVs in the total new car market increased from 26% in 2017 to 38% in 2020 and was 44% last year.
The realities of the market have changed a lot: in 2017, there were more than 54,000 cars in the C segment, and 20,000 less SUVs. Last year, the situation was reversed: there were 21,000 more SUVs than the C-class.
