Prime Minister Marcel Cholaku announced on Wednesday that the government and the Prime Minister will use the same brand of cars, namely Dacia. “From now on, my car as prime minister will be a Dacia Duster. As in France the car of the government and power is Renault, in Romania the car of the government and the prime minister should be Duster,” said Colacu.
- “The brand of the Romanian government should be the main car manufacturer. From now on, my car as prime minister will be Dacia Duster. I believe that this is correct in any democratic state and in any economy.
- As in France the car of government and power is Renault, in Romania the car of power and the prime minister should be Duster,” said the prime minister while visiting the Dacia platform in Mioveni on Wednesday.
He conducted a test drive with the new Duster model, which, according to him, is a “beast”.
Çolaku said that 12,500 people currently work on the Dacia industrial platform.
- “Another 1,500 companies work for Dacia. This time we are talking about 150 thousand people and orders for 2.2 billion euros. It is one of the engines of the Romanian economy. 10% of Romania’s exports are provided by Dacia,” said the Prime Minister.
Dacia announced the third-generation Duster at the end of November, and in January also announced a starting price of €18,800 including VAT.
The new Duster will be available for order from the first week of March, and the first deliveries to customers are scheduled for the end of the second quarter of this year. Versions with maximum features will exceed 25,000 euros.
In 2023, 10,700 new Duster cars were sold in Romania, the model is the second most popular after Logan. About 200,000 Duster cars are sold in Europe every year.
