​Convicted in 2023, Quincy Promes lost an appeal on Tuesday and was sentenced to 18 months in prison for stabbing his cousin in the knee. Otherwise, the Dutch football player faces 9 years in prison, reports Le Figaro.

The player of the Moscow “Spartak” has recently been in frequent contact with Dutch justice, in two cases.

The footballer was sentenced to a year and a half in prison after attacking his cousin with a knife in 2020, and will also have to pay €7,000 in compensation. Promes did not attend any meeting.

On February 14, the former Oranje player will be tried in another case. He will be responsible for charges of involvement in the importation of cocaine in particularly large quantities. Last month, the Dutch prosecutor’s office asked for 9 years in prison.

Promes has been registered with Spartak Moscow since 2021, his contract runs until the summer of 2024, writes News.ro.
