According to a statement sent by the BNR on Monday, the videos fraudulently use the image and voice of the governor of the BNR to convince the public to make financial investments on a non-existent platform.
A deepfake, according to the Responsible Use of Technology Act, is any falsified image, audio and/or video content created using artificial intelligence to make it appear that a person said or did something they did not consent to . not actually said or done by that person.
We reiterate the fact that the National Bank of Romania does not provide investment recommendations and suggestions.
If you have observed such false advertisements, immediately report these situations to the competent authorities, the notice also said.
