
More than half (56%) of Romanian workers plan to change jobs in the next year, according to a survey conducted by the employment platform eJobs and cited by Agerpres.
According to eJobs, 17% of respondents are undecided with this point of view, and 27% are satisfied with the place where they currently work and do not think about any changes.
The main reasons given by those looking for a new job are related to salary (59.7% of respondents mentioned in the TOP-3 reasons), the fact that they do not see any opportunities for growth in the company where they currently work . for (56.9%) or that they are in a toxic environment, from an organizational point of view (42.3%), is mentioned in the analysis.
In addition, almost a third of Romanians include in the list of reasons that they work too much and feel exhausted, 16.6% are unhappy that they cannot work remotely, although they would like to, 10.2% do not get along with their immediate supervisor, and 4.4% do not get along with the team.
What Romanian workers say about work in 2023
Ask how 2023 was for them, and most employees describe it as a difficult year. Thus, 23% say it has been difficult as many feel it has been full of challenges, while for 22% it has been a year full of uncertainty.
It was a good year for only 31% (for 16% it was a year of growth; for 8%, 2023 brought pleasant surprises, and for 7% it was easier than 2022).
In addition to changing jobs, the list of wishes for the next year includes: a salary increase, promotion, long-term work at home, opening your own business, starting professional retraining courses or employment abroad.
At the same time, 9% of respondents admit that they have no reason to be optimistic about 2024.
Transnational companies remain attractive for employees in Romania
As for those preparing for a job change, a third expect to find a new job within one to three months, 15% believe it will take three to six months, and 19% believe they will be able to do so in less than a month.
At the same time, almost a quarter (24%) find it difficult to make an assessment, while 16% believe that it will be a process lasting more than six months, which is also the reason why they are currently hesitating to resign.
According to the data collected by eJobs, approximately 35% of respondents consider the ideal employer to be a multinational company, 18% mention an employer that allows remote work, 16% would like to work in a small company, and 13% – in a Romanian company. , the same amount for a company from abroad, and 5% would choose a startup.
The survey was conducted between October and November 2023 on a sample of 1,250 respondents who are currently working.
