Candidates on the recruiting platform set a new record of more than 1.1 million applications in the first ten months of this year, boosting the search for a new job. In addition, more than 60% of respondents to the latest bestjobs survey said they had attended at least one job interview this year, with another 20% planning to interview in the near future.

“The main fears during the interview are that they will have too much emotion (26%), that the employer’s expectations will be far beyond what they know or can offer (21%), that they will not be able to present their convincing experience (20%) or that they do not have the necessary experience for the job they have applied for (also 20%),” said a press release sent by the recruiting platform.

Potential technical questions during the interview that they don’t know how to answer, or the recruiter’s rejection of the candidate’s requirements are other reasons that cause applicants to postpone the interview stage for a new job.

According to the cited source, candidates would say no to a job immediately after an interview if the salary presented at the interview is below the market level or expectations (41%), and they are asked if they are willing to work on vacation. /legal days off (30%), realize during the interview that they won’t fit in (27%), are asked about plans to have children (9%) or the hiring process is taking too long, with too many decision makers involved ( 25%).

The survey was conducted by bestjobs between October and November on a sample of 1,200 Internet users from Romania.

Bestjobs presents interviews like speed dating

In this context, bestjobs presents live interviews on the platform, through which candidates can engage in personal discussions with recruiters without going through the application and verification stage. This interview format is similar to the concept of “speed dating” in that candidates have 8 minutes to introduce themselves and learn more about the job in question.

After this short interview, both candidates and recruiters can vote yes if there is a match and they are interested in moving forward in the hiring process.

“In the age of speed and especially in this context of the labor market, where more and more candidates are looking for a new job and want to change their career quickly, at bestjobs we have introduced real-time interviews that facilitate a quick match between the candidate and the recruiter, leading to a simplified and efficient recruitment process,” says Ana Vishian, Marketing Manager of Bestjobs.

“Even if an application is not required to participate in the live interview, we recommend that candidates have a completed or updated CV on the platform so that their information reaches the recruiter as soon as possible after the live discussion,” she added.

Bestjobs is one of the most important online recruiting platforms in Romania, with more than 35,000 available vacancies and 4.6 million professionals connected to the labor market, reminds Agerpres.
