The traditional pillars of the mass media are undergoing changes caused by the digital revolution and the emergence of a new generation of journalists who share the values ​​of a new wave of readers. As we find ourselves at the intersection of technology and storytelling, it is increasingly clear that the future of media in Romania is tied to the vision, innovation and resilience of the next generation of journalists.

I asked young Romanian journalists like myself and my colleague what they thought was missing from the media landscape as a starting point to outline the future of the industry to which we dedicated our work. They all told me that there needs to be better communication and collaboration: whether it’s TV and online, whether it’s traditional media and social media, whether it’s internal, it reflects the difficulties, the real problems, that the national media industry is facing.
