CFR SA and the European Executive Agency for Climate, Infrastructure and the Environment (CINEA) have signed financing agreements totaling EUR 672 million for the second phase of the rail infrastructure modernization projects on the North Bucharest – North Giurgiu border, at the Port of Constanța and for the first project electrification and modernization of the railway infrastructure through the border point in VICHANI, on the border with Ukraine, implemented in cooperation with SA Căile Ferate Ukrainene.
Three projects financed from CEF grant funds – Cohesion Fund through the European Interconnection Mechanism, transport sector – approved by the European Commission, play an important role in the development of the railway network in the south and north of the country. country, on the border with Ukraine, and will directly contribute to increasing the productivity and connectivity of the railway infrastructure for both categories of transport, passengers and cargo.
