The index calculates the number of countries that a country’s citizens can visit without a visa and stores this data for the past 18 years.

Singapore is followed by a group of 8 countries (Finland, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain and Sweden), whose citizens can enter up to 190 countries without visas.

Romania occupies the 14th position in this ranking, together with our Bulgarian neighbors we have visa-free access to 177 countries.

Hungary and Greece are way above us in 6th place with 186 countries they can visit without a visa.

Among the countries they can go to while Romanians need a visa: Burkina Faso, South Africa, Swaziland, Guam, Community of the Northern Mariana Islands, Anguilla (a British territory located in the north of the Lesser Antilles, east of Puerto Rico), Cayman Islands islands, Puerto Rico (an island nation associated with the United States of America, located in the northeastern Caribbean), the Virgin Islands, or Suriname.
