The course of the summer season is estimated to be even more optimistic because in the coming days Aegean will begin to implement many new routes to and from major European destinations and back to all its bases, gradually increasing frequency. Tentatively, in the coming days, routes will start from Athens to Newcastle, Valencia and Eindhoven, from Thessaloniki to Barcelona, Nuremberg, Cologne, Hannover and Venice, as well as from Heraklion to Vienna and Marseille and from Rhodes to Belgrade.
Aegean’s summer plans for this year are the largest in its history, according to travel market leaders at Airbus headquarters, where the airline’s 46-aircraft A320neo and A321neo fleet renewal program is underway. This year it will operate 76 aircraft and offer a total of 18 million seats. 11 million of them, which concern international routes, increased by 2 million compared to 2022 and 800,000 compared to 2019. In addition, Aegean will operate in 46 countries with 264 routes to 161 destinations from 8 bases, adding to its network. 16 new international destinations, 25 new direct international routes, and four new countries (Morocco, Kuwait, Latvia and Azerbaijan). At the same time, frequencies on existing routes have also increased significantly.
