The National Audiovisual Council (CNA) fined Realitatea Plus 4,000 euros (20,000 lei) for a show in which producer Alexandra Pecuraru, the daughter of the owner of the TV station, burned incense in the studio with the message “To hell you can do whatever you do, Mrs. Minister of Education , leave us as God left us,” writes Paginademedia.ro.
Realitatea Plus was fined again by the National Audiovisual Council for two shows released in March: one on the topic of vaccination against COVID, produced by Anka Alexandrescu, and the other on the topic of laws on education and gender diversity, produced by Alexandra Pecuraru. The fine was 2,000 euros for the first show, and 4,000 euros for the second.
In one of the editions, Alexander Pakuraru burned incense in the studio so that “the devils would come out”: “(…) this Mrs. Deka, whom I knew from the beginning, was progressive and that she wanted to spoil the lives of our children. No matter how many theories you come to me to tell me that it’s decent, that this is the new future, to send your boy to school so that he comes back as a girl or neutral or star sex or something, I’m telling you that if God ordered so, this is how it was.”
- “It’s not about tone or topic. It’s about how important the topic was… I can’t even say what was discussed, that it wasn’t really a debate.
- Now she (the moderator) decides if she wants to have early medieval scenes with incense and all that in the studio and talk about demons.
- You bring incense to the studio to exorcise devils, to exorcise the Minister of Education,” said Dorina Rusu, a member of the CNA, at the meeting where it was decided to fine the Realitatea station, according to Paginademedia.ro.
