Twitter sent Microsoft a letter in which the company under the leadership of Elon Musk accuses the social network of unauthorized use. In April, Elon Musk accused Microsoft of illegally “training” AI technologies using Twitter datasets.

The letter, sent by a lawyer hired by Twitter, says that Microsoft violated many agreements related to the right to use the data.

Data becomes even more important in an industry where it is important to train the most effective AI models. Data is increasingly expensive.

Last month, Musk criticized Microsoft for the Satya Nadella-led company’s very close ties to OpenAI, with Microsoft being the largest investor in the company. Musk said Microsoft controls the company that created ChatGPT.

Now, in a letter sent by lawyers, Twitter accuses Microsoft of using Twitter’s API for unauthorized purposes and that Microsoft used even more of Twitter’s data than it was entitled to.

In March, Twitter, which is in a difficult financial situation, announced that developers must pay higher amounts for access to its services and databases. In addition, some services that were free have become paid.
