
Local authorities said eleven people died in a traffic accident in Jingxi city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China early Friday morning.
The accident happened around 6:30 am. when a car carrying 14 people rolled off the edge of a cliff on a stretch of road in the village of Siming.
According to Chinese state television, the car fell into a body of water.
A Jingxi local government statement confirming the death toll said three people managed to escape.
Rescue work continues, an investigation into the causes of the accident has been launched.
