The “austerity decree” has been amended, but this means that some aspects will be discussed at the government meeting on Friday, such as changes to the payment of electricity bills.

Two changes compared to the version announced by the Minister of Finance
1. Compared to the original version, according to Daniela Pescaru (Secretary of State at the Ministry of Finance), the article, which refers to holding positions (they don’t have ice cream). There is an exception in the case of those for whom file selection has already been done.
Note that in the original version, the exclusion referred to “positions for which there was a written assessment of competitions or exams or, depending on the circumstances, a practical assessment.”
As is known from the document, there is an opportunity for the Government in justified cases to approve the replacement of positions by memorandum.
2. It was corrected to a doctorate.
Practically due to the change, positions for which there is a condition for obtaining the title of doctor have been excluded. This is a new paragraph.
“It’s actually an addendum to the Wage Law article in the sense that people who get that 50% minimum wage bonus after they get their Ph.D. also have to update their job descriptions with a set of quantified goals,” he explained. Daniela Pescaru.
Why was it included in the draft order?
Some employees complain that they are discriminated against: although they perform the same duties as doctoral students, they receive less money.
“So that these debates no longer exist, we have established that those who have a doctorate and receive compensation for it should also have certain additional responsibilities and objectives in their job description,” Pescaru said.

Otherwise, there are no more changes, but it remains to be seen whether anything will change after the discussions in the Government regarding the payment of electricity bills to utilities. This and in the context in which the proposed changes do not seem to solve the problem.
The draft order limits the number of boards of directors an employee can have in public institutions to two. This is currently regulated to 3.
This does not mean that savings will be made. Someone else will take the vacated place.
The project also envisages a 50% reduction in the staff of central offices.
