After more than 4 months, during which the file on the approval of Septimiu Postelnik for the position of General Director of UniCredit Bank Romania was in the BNR, the Central Bank announced the rejection of his appointment. There are isolated cases when the National Bank of Ukraine refuses to appoint proposed bank managers, in most cases such proposals are “agreed on” between the National Bank of Ukraine and commercial banks precisely to avoid such moments.
The most recent rejection of an appointment at this level was last summer, when the NBR rejected a file that Dan Ostahi, the founder of Altex, was to buy Porsche Bank, just days after the Competition Council gave the green light to the deal.
In the case of Postelnik, who was supposed to take the place of Resvan Radu, the reasons for the refusal are related to the insufficient experience he has accumulated in a managerial position.
Reswan Radu’s term ends on April 17, and interim leadership will be provided by Feza Tan, Deputy CEO and First Executive Vice President.
Septimiu Postelniku, who was announced as CEO to replace Resvan Radu late last year, has been seconded to UniCredit’s Bulgarian subsidiary.
Septimiu Postelniku was the coordinator of the retail department at UniCredit Bank, and since May 2018 – the vice president of the directorate, he has 23 years of experience in the field of financial services, in management positions in various business areas – both commercial and operational.
In the period from 2004 to 2006, he held the position of managing director of HVB Leasing Romania, and from 2006 to 2008, he was the general director and, accordingly, the coordinator of the integration of UniCredit Leasing – HVB Leasing within UniCredit Leasing Corporation. In 2009, he accepted the challenge of international experience at UniCredit Group, taking the position of Head of Global Services of UniCredit Leasing Spa in Milan, and in 2010 he was appointed Head of Global Banking Services of UniCredit Bank SA
