This is despite the fact that most of them have increased partner hotels this year and therefore the number of nights available for sale.

“If you want to spend your holidays this summer in Rhodes, Kos, the Cyclades or Zakynthos, you should book as soon as possible,” Benjamin Jacobi, head of TUI sales in Germany, said at ITB 2023.

His boss, the head of TUI Deutschland, Stefan Baumert, even said that half of the available beds and air seats in such destinations had already been sold.

However, Antalya in Turkey and Mallorca in Spain are currently vying for the top spot among the most popular summer holiday destinations for Germans. The Greek Islands follow in third place, but they are followed by Egypt, the Canary Islands and Andalusia.

The high demand for Greece is also confirmed by the booking data of TUI rival travel group DER Touristik, which shows that our country is the third most popular short-to-medium-haul destination for Germans in 2023, and the numbers are sure to surpass previous ones. 2019.
