​CFR SA has announced that the first step has been taken to restore the Royal Train Station at Courtes de Arges, a building in deep disrepair. The station, designed to serve the 38 km long Pitesti-Curta de Arges line, was inaugurated on November 27, 1898. There are only three trains a day between the two cities. In 1980 there were eight trains, and in 1998 – seven.

What CFR SA says

The national railway company CFR SA announces that SRCF CRAIOVA has signed a contract for the development of the technical project and the execution of repair, rehabilitation and restoration works of the passenger building at Curtea de Argeș station, a contract worth 8.74 million lei. .

SRCF Craiova and Association SC EURAS SRL – SC ARHING SRL (Romania) signed a contract for the amount of 8,749,082.33 lei without VAT for the development of a technical project and the execution of repair, rehabilitation and restoration works of the passenger building at the CF station Curtea de Argeş.

The duration of the contract is 36 months, which covers the stages of development/approval of the technical project, obtaining approvals/permits and carrying out repair, rehabilitation and restoration works of the passenger body, the source of funding is provided from CFR SA’s own funds.

The general objectives of this contract (design and execution of works) are:

→ repair and strengthening of the supporting structure

→ restoration/decoration of works of art made of wood, stone, ceramics, metal

→ replacement of the asterella cover and the water separation system

→ local and biocidal repair of the frame;

→ repair of electrical, heating and plumbing installations.

The company says that the repair, restoration and rehabilitation of the passenger compartment will be carried out only with the use of special materials and technologies compatible with the original ones, based on the conclusion issued by the Ministry of Culture and National Self-Consciousness.
