Germany: February year-on-year inflation still at 8.7%
Germany’s year-on-year inflation figures for February remained high at 8.7%, the same figure as in January, as consumers struggled with rising energy and food prices.
The Federal Statistical Office said in a press release on Friday that February consumer prices rose by 0.8% compared with January.
“The inflation rate remains at a high level,” said Ruth Brand, president of the Federal Statistical Office. “Families felt the impact of rising food prices in February as well, as they rose even more than energy prices.”
