The digital property transfer file will be announced on Monday, Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis said.
In the first phase, the digital system will operate as a pilot, and notaries will be able to use it and digitally download “all this package of papers that they are now asking citizens,” the minister added in a televised interview with the ERT news bulletin from Boston.
The minister noted that since the property of the respective citizen is registered and in order, the notary will be able to automatically receive all data, documents related to the property from the platform.
“This is a big qualitative change, we made it together with notaries to make it useful and functional,” Mr. Pierrakakis explained.
Interest in artificial intelligence in Greece
The minister also mentioned the rapid changes brought about by artificial intelligence. “All over the world they are talking about artificial intelligence, there is a lot of interest in Greece, not because we have overcome all our difficulties, or because we are technologically innovative, we are organizationally innovative.”
He said that artificial intelligence is already being discussed in areas such as telemedicine with remote operations, as well as in cars, since vehicles such as trucks will be able to move around without a driver.
Lastly, he mentioned “the queues that citizens avoided” and, regarding the application for market passes, he said that more than 2 million applications had been submitted. Payouts start March 3rd and applications will be accepted until March 15th.
