“Regarding the fiber optic cables from the relevant level crossing with the railway, they are not owned by our company and after the trial run, at the request of CF Cluj Regional, the company that owns/administers the relevant cables quickly intervened to lay the cables in the area of the level crossing , thereby providing a free track width for this type of locomotives,” CFR reports.
CFR: Ukrzaliznytsia has not run a single train on this section for more than 16 years
The Romanian company declares that the repair work carried out under its own management by Regionala CF Cluj on the line CF Teresva (UZ) – Câmpulung la Tisa (CFR) – Sighetu Marmației – Bocicoi – Valea Vişeului (CFR) – Berlibas (UZ), with a length of 40.44 km, they were fully completed by the end of 2022.
“We also clarify the fact that the repair work carried out by SRCF Cluj under its own management, between September 2022 and December 2022, on Teresva (UZ) – Câmpulung la Tisa (CFR) – Sighetu Marmației – Bocicoi – Valea Vişeului ( CFR) ) – Berlibas (UZ), aimed at restoring and streamlining cross-border rail connections across two railway borders with UZ, where Ukrainian Railways has not run a single train for more than 16 years,” CFR reports.
Below is what CFR has to say about work on various railway routes connecting Ukraine:
“We also remind you of the official information sent in 2022 by CFR SA regarding the restoration of two borders with the Ukrainian Railways, test periods conducted by the Ukrainian Railways, and relations between the Ukrainian Railways and the Ukrainian Railways regarding the introduction of railway stock into circulation:
– CFR SA reopened the Valya Višeului border railway station on October 12, 2022, the first test UZ (AUTOMOTOR) train ran on the Berlibas (UZ) – Valia Višeului (CFR) line on November 8, 2022, and from January 17, 2023 Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) launched the first trains on the Rakhiv – Valya Vysheului route.
