
Yesterday, 42 companies from Greece, Cyprus and Ukraine, participating in egg innovation accelerator of Eurobank. The companies presented their plans to a wide audience of venture capital managers (VC), corporate investors and business angels (Business Angels) from Greece, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel, USA, Canada and the UK.
The event saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between egg and the Romanian-based business accelerator InnovX, with the aim of strengthening collaboration between the innovation ecosystems of Greece and Central and Eastern Europe. The memorandum celebrates the expansion and cooperation of the innovation ecosystems of Greece and Central and Eastern Europe, supports the mutual promotion of innovation and support for start-ups by the two accelerators, mainly in the areas of education, extraversion, business networks, diversity and inclusiveness.
Investor Day Held with a combination of physical and online presence, it is the largest event hosted by the egg in ten years as it amplifies support for new extrovert entrepreneurship so that it can come together and raise funding in the midst of the strong challenges that characterize the current situation internationally. Characteristically, during the event, meetings were held between 42 egg participating companies and more than 80 representatives of venture funds, family offices, crowdfunding platforms and business angels from Greece and other countries.
At the conference, which was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Development and Investment and Research and Technology, Yiannis Tsakiris and Christos Dimas, the Chairman emphasized the firm commitment of the Eurobank to increase synergies in innovation ecosystems in Central and Eastern Europe. egg (enter-grow-go) is a business accelerator developed and implemented since 2013 by Eurobank in cooperation with Corallia EK’s Athena division. An estimated 1,100 young entrepreneurs have adopted and supported the egg to date, and 310 startups have taken part in its platforms. Also, 171 startups created a legal form, funding in the amount of 43.4 million euros attracted a total of 65 startups from Greek and foreign investors (VC, CVC, Business Angels), while the total turnover was developed by 101 startups (out of 171). in the amount of 12.25 million euros.
