On Monday, December 5, 2022, earlier than ever, the advance payment of the Christmas Gift to the subsidized unemployed, Special Maternity Benefit recipients, and Child Care Benefit recipients took place.
On the same day, early payment of regular unemployment benefits, long-term unemployment benefits and unemployment benefits for the self-employed will begin.
The enrollment of benefits and the Christmas Gift will be automatically processed by the Public Employment Service (DYPA – formerly OAED) by direct transfer to bank accounts.
No action is required from the beneficiaries and there is no need to visit the Employment Assistance Centers (KPA2). Payments appear in bank accounts within 3 business days after being paid by DYPA.
As a reminder, early payment of benefits for those unemployed who are required to declare their presence between December 5, 2022 and January 6, 2023, will occur after the declaration of presence, which is done exclusively online from the website: gov. .gr > Employment and insurance > Unemployment > Declaration of subsidized unemployed.
When is it paid and how is the Christmas present calculated?
According to the KEPEA GSEE (Information Center for the Employed and Unemployed), the Christmas gift must be paid by December 21 of each year.
Of course, the employer can pay it before the specified date. Payment of the agreed amount is made only in cash.
To calculate your Christmas gift, you can go to corresponding KEPEA website.
