Increases to 94.6% of pensionersAccording to the analysis of the final figures carried out by the services EFKA and which take into account all upcoming increases in their wages, which should be implemented gradually from the end of 2022, according to Ministry of Labor.

Specifically for the horizontal increase in all pensions, which will take effect from 01/01/2023, this has been calculated based on a percentage of 7.75%, as shown in the budget data.

The Ministry of Labor reminds that in the event of a small discrepancy in the final percentage of the increase to which pensioners are entitled, this will be confirmed by ELSTAT in the fall of 2023 with the publication of final inflation and GDP data for 2022. Any small deviation that occurs will be paid to pensioners in early 2024 year, together with the corresponding payments retroactively.

The vast majority of retirees, namely 2,499,285 people out of 2,634,786 (94.6%), will see a one-, two-, or even three-fold increase in income. In fact, the increases are such that every second pensioner will receive at least one additional pension (many amounts exceed one additional pension). These increases are the result of:

  • From the “defrost”, the next growth from the beginning of 2023 will be 7.75%.
  • Since the abolition of the special collection of solidarity.
  • From the payment of emergency financial assistance in the amount of 250 euros at the end of this year.
  • From the payment of the 4th annual contribution, provided for by the Vrutsis Law, for pensioners who applied before May 2016 with more than 30 years of insurance experience.
  1. An increase of 7.75% will be seen by 1,724,713 pensioners. Of these, 80%-85% will see a full 7.75% increase, while the vast majority of the rest will see more than 7% increase depending on how individual they are.
  2. 912,644 pensioners will see the abolition of the special solidarity contribution.
  3. 1,206,624 pensioners will receive emergency assistance in the amount of 250 euros.
  4. 231,655 retirees will receive the 4th annual Vroutsis increase

Specifically:

  • 2,499,285 pensioners will see at least one increase (through an increase of 7.75% or the abolition of the solidarity contribution or the payment of an allowance of 250 euros).
  • 1,344,696 pensioners will see a double increase (through a combination of 7.75% increases, the abolition of the solidarity contribution or the payment of an emergency financial aid of 250 euros).
  • 185,649 pensioners will see a triple increase (due to a combination of a 7.75% increase, the abolition of the solidarity levy or the €250 emergency financial aid payment, and the application of the 4th annual Vroutsis increase).
  1. A horizontal increase of 7.75% will be given to 1,724,713 pensioners.
  2. A two-fold increase (an increase of about 7.75% and an increase due to the abolition of the special solidarity contribution) will be seen by 397,164 pensioners.
  3. 947,532 pensioners will see a double increase (an increase of about 7.75% and the payment of emergency financial assistance in the amount of 250 euros).
  4. 35,252 pensioners will see a three-fold increase (increase of around 7.75%, payment of emergency financial assistance of 250 euros and the 4th annual increase of Vroutsys).
  5. 150,397 pensioners will see a three-fold increase (an increase of about 7.75%, an increase due to the abolition of the special solidarity levy and the 4th annual increase of Vrucis).
  1. With the abolition of the special solidarity contribution, 515,480 pensioners will see an increase with a big personal difference. At the same time, they will see a significant reduction in their personal differences.
  2. With a €250 emergency financial aid payment, 259,092 pensioners will see their wages increase while at the same time a significant reduction in their personal differences.
  • Overall, 94.6% of retirees will see a one-, two-, or even three-fold increase in their earnings.
  • More than 1.3 million pensioners will be doubled.
  • 1 out of 2 pensioners with a combination of the above allowances will receive at least one additional pension.
  • 83% of those with large personal differences will also see an increase through the abolition of the special solidarity levy and the payment of a €250 subsidy.

Increment examples

With one increase: a pensioner who receives 850 euros per month. With a 7.75% supplement, the monthly allowance will be around 66 euros and the annual allowance 792 euros. In other words, it will amount to 93% of the additional pension.

With a double increase: The pensioner currently receives a pension of 900 euros and declares income from other sources in the amount of 6200 euros per year. Including the 7.75% surcharge and the benefit from the abolition of the special solidarity levy, the total annual allowance is 906 euros (840 euros from the 7.75% increase and 66 euros from the abolition of the special levy). The annual allowance exceeds this and constitutes an additional pension.

With a double bonus: The pensioner receives 750 euros per month. When applying the 7.75% supplement, the monthly allowance is about 58 euros and the annual allowance is 696 euros. At the same time, a pensioner is also entitled to emergency assistance in the amount of 250 euros, since his pensionable earnings do not exceed 9,600 euros per year. Adding both increases in his earnings, the total annual allowance is 946 euros, far more than one additional pension.

With a triple increase: a pensioner who applied for a pension before May 2016, with more than 30 years of insurance experience, receives 514 euros per month. With the 7.75% surcharge applied, his monthly profit from this surcharge is 40 euros, and the annual profit is 480 euros. At the same time, he will receive an additional surcharge of 2.83% through the fourth annual increase provided for in Vrucis based on improved replacement rates, i.e. additional 174 euros per year. Due to his low income (less than 9,600 euros), he will also receive 250 euros of assistance. Thus, taking into account the above three increases, it turns out that his total annual allowance is 904 euros. That is, he will see the full supplementary pension, but also 68% of the second supplementary pension.

With a double increase: a pensioner with a monthly allowance of 1100 euros, applying the increase of 7.75%, will receive a monthly allowance of 85 euros and an annual allowance of 1020 euros. In connection with the abolition of the special solidarity levy, he will receive an additional annual allowance of 66 euros. The total annual allowance is 1,086 euros, including one supplementary pension.

Increasing, despite the presence of significant personality differences. A pensioner with a negative personal difference of €70 receives a net monthly pension of €560. An increase of 7.75% significantly reduces the personality difference, but does not overcome it. Due to income below 9600 euros per year, the pensioner will receive an extraordinary financial support of 250 euros and at the same time see his personal difference decrease by 42 euros and be able to see a faster real increase in his pocket in the future. .
