After opening the first five stores in Zakynthos and Halkidiki, the company has opened six more stores in recent days, almost all in tourist areas.
New Carrefour stores have been opened in Thassos – two Carrefour Express and Carrefour Market stores – in Thessaloniki, where the first Carrefour Express store operates, in Kamari and Oia Santorini with Carrefour Express and Carrefour Market respectively, and in Kos, where the first Carrefour Market on the island.
Parallel to the development plan for the region, the first store in Attica, Piraeus, is under construction and will open in the coming weeks, marking the expansion of Carrefour’s network into urban centres. The company’s goal is to create an extensive network of stores throughout Greece, which will include 25 Carrefour Market and Carrefour Express stores, properly adapted to the conditions of each local market.
Recall that when Carrefour first started its operations in Greece in cooperation with Marinopoulos, it was a leader in the supermarket sector.
