Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5: what’s new in 2024

The new versions of the Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 are equipped with new on-board software, as well as a completely new infotainment system with The screen is 12.9 inches : For ease of use, the haptic sliders for climate control and volume control are now backlit, and the augmented reality head-up display has been improved. In the Pro version, the power increases by 82 horsepower and the maximum torque by 235 Nm, reaching a total of 545 Nm.

More autonomy and comfort

More power does not necessarily mean less autonomy: thus the ID.4 and ID.5 offer more autonomy with Battery 77 kWhwith a general meaning 550 kilometers for electric SUV ID.4 and 556 kilometers on the coupe of the electric SUV ID.5 according to the WLTP cycle. All-wheel drive models are now compatible with a charging capacity of up to 175 kW : enough to restore about 178 kilometers of autonomy in about ten minutes.

As in ID.7, we find in ID.4 and ID.5 a new suspension tuningwith new parameters to control the adaptive chassis control (option), as well as the recalibration of the dynamic behavior manager between comfort and dynamics.

ID.4 and ID.5 can also be additionally equipped, for the first time, with door opening warning systemwhich warns passengers by opening the front door if a bicycle, motorcycle or other vehicle is approaching from behind.
