
It was an unforgettable event for motorists : history Frankfurt Motor Show, Germany. Since 2021, it has moved to Munich and received the name Mobility Fair, which is more in line with the current context. Nevertheless, it remains a very popular destination for automakers who are preparing to present several new products here. For the 2023 edition, which will be held from September 5 to 10, Opel has just announced three new electric cars! As we know, the Stellantis group brand is intensifying its offensive in this technology. Currently, there are already 4 100% electric models for individuals in the assortment. THE Corsa and Mokaas well as Combo and Zafira (passenger version of the Vivaro utility). The Astra and Grandland will benefit from plug-in hybrid options.
New electric Astra Sports Tourer
Among the expected novelties, the most important of all will be the world premiere of the electric Astra Sports Tourer. Introduced in November 2022 at the same time as the five-door sedan, the Astra station wagon will be available to the public for the first time. Surprisingly, there will be no five-door version of the sedan, so the break will be chained to him. This cousin of the Peugeot e-308 shares the same transmission with the French. It is evolving 156 horsepower at 270 Nm of torque. Energy is stored in the battery at 54 kWh, which allows autonomy up to 416 kilometers. It accepts charging power up to 100 kW, which allows charges up to 80% in about 30 minutes. It will enter the market in France at the end of 2023 – at the beginning of next year.
Restyled electric Corsa and a surprise…
Another novelty will be the world premiere, restyled version of the electric Opel Corsa. The Peugeot e-208 cousin is being updated ahead of the restyling of its French sidekick, scheduled for the end of the year. She enjoys a completely redesigned frontwhich now includes the famous front Vauxhall Vizor, as well as LED projectors. On board, two small 7-inch screens now give way two 10-inch screens. It also got a new high-resolution panoramic rearview camera. From the technical side, this is also a small revolution. The 136-horsepower engine is serviced, but there is now supported by a more powerful 156 horsepower variant. The same goes for the 50 kWh battery (357 km range) supported by a 54 kWh battery that promises a range of 402 kilometers. The electric Astra and Corsa will not be the only stars of this show… Opel will indeed present a new concept or “manifesto” according to the terms of the manufacturer.
