Electric car users will be happy to know that TotalEnergies and Vinci Autoroutes have just opened new powerful charging station onNorthern district of Montpellier-Fabreglocated on the A9 motorway towards Narbonne.

9 new charging stations on the A9 highway

In addition to service stations that offer the distribution of regular fuel, from now on, TotalEnergies also offers motorists a renewed area for electric vehicles thanks to the commissioning of a new center dedicated to electric mobility.

We find no less than 9 new electric chargers. In detail, they consist of:

  • 2 fast charging points on alternating current 43 kW and on direct current 50 kW
  • 7 points of ultra-fast charging direct current from 175 kW

Depending on the model, these terminals can recover about 100 kilometers of autonomy in 6 minutes and charge about 80% of the battery in about twenty minutes, the perfect time to take advantage of a break at this renovated motorway service area.

One of the busiest motorway service areas in France

With this new installation, Vinci Autoroutes is pursuing its goal of installing electric charging stations in all service areas of its network by 2023: in total, more than 1500 charging points will be commissioned.

With these new ultra-fast charging stations, Vinci Autoroutes wants to make life easier for electric car users, as well as contribute to the decarbonization of road use and the development of electric mobility.

Located on the A9 motorway, between the city of Orange and the Spanish border, the Montpellier-Fabrég Nord service area isone of the liveliest in France. It receives an average of 1,200 cars per day and up to 1,600 on long summer weekends. This new setup is sure to be popular with motorists for the upcoming holidays, this new summer season.
