This is a hot topic that has been on everyone’s lips for several years. Indeed, the state authorities have been doing everything to encourage motorists to switch to electricity for quite some time. If it started with restrained incentives, with an environmental bonus, now our leaders are going further. So much so that from 2035 in Europe they plan to ban the sale of new thermal cars. This is the date by which many brands will already be 100% electric. This is especially true mercedeswhich will sell only zero-emission cars in 2030. A date that is fast approaching, and for which the star firm is preparing more than ever.

Everything for electricity
If there are other very interesting engines, such as hybrid or hydrogen, this does not seem to speak for Mercedes. During an interview during the EQE presentation at the Rodin Museum on the sidelines of the Paris Motor Show, Markus Schafer, the brand’s technical director, for his part, emphasizes that ” there is no alternative to electric cars for cars“. The latter categorically does not believe in hydrogen and synthetic fuel, which would require ” new investments in technologies that are less efficient for cars anyway. This is not the best choice“. It at least has the advantage of being very clear, while the star-studded firm believes more than ever in the electric future.
.
Big investments
Indeed, Mercedes-Benz has already invested more than 7 billion euros in research and development of connected engines. So much so that the brand claims that it is even ready to end combustion in 2035, while part of its internal combustion engines will already be abandoned by 2027. In 2039, the manufacturer should no longer offer this engine anywhere in the world. as it works to develop larger batteries with faster charging.
