Shortages, sometimes speculation, as well as an increase in the cost of packaging, transportation, extension of delivery times – many reasons explain the sharp rise in prices. We recap https://t.co/uFS6kR2PTK

If you own a car, you’ve undoubtedly had to drive to a garage. And in general, it’s not just a walk. Between the risk of fraud, the time spent, and especially the price spent, we’d be fine without it. Moreover, the situation is not improving, but on the contrary. Because it will cost more and more to repair or maintain your car, which you probably noticed when you visited the workshop recently. But this time it was completely and truthfully confirmed by a research, led by iDGarages.com and taken over by our colleagues at Parisian. And the observation is obvious: in 2022, prices increased very significantly. A full overhaul costs around €265 on average, compared to €256 last year. Growth that hurts a lot in a context where everything continues to grow, and fuel in particular.

an increase of 5%.
According to the SRA (Automobile Safety and Repair), the average increase in repair and maintenance operations was approximately 5% for the first quarter as a whole compared to last year. For example, changing the distribution currently costs an average of 556 euros, while in 2021 it will be only 522 euros. And there are many reasons for this growth. Indeed, this is primarily due to inflation, which has a direct impact on parts prices, as well as labor, which grew by 4.1% for the year as a whole. The surge we owe to the drop in available gear means that demand is stronger than supply. Hence the rise in prices. At the same time, prices for spare parts have increased by 6.4% since the beginning of the year compared to last year.
Uneven ascents
Although the growth is global, not all regions have been affected equally, as the barometer showsID Garages. Indeed, it is in Normandy, Brittany, Burgundy Franche-Comté and Nouvelle Aquitaine that the outbreak is most important. Surprisingly enough, Ile-de-France, Pays-de-la-Loire, Grand-Est, Haut-de-France and Center-Val-de-Loire have the lowest prices in France. The authors of the study did not name the reason.
