Two gifts received by Nicolae Ceausescu from Iran’s Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and from North Korea’s President Kim Il Sung will be auctioned next week, on Wednesday, September 27, along with around 200 other works of Oriental and Asian art. At the price of 2,000 euros, an impressive oriental table made of carved exotic wood with mother-of-pearl inlays is being auctioned. The piece was presented as a gift in the late 70s by Iranian Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who also presented Nicolae Ceausescu with the famous Paykan Hillman Hunter limousine, a symbol of Iran.
