Like an erupting volcano, AEK was on fire with its historic debut at the Agia Sophia – OPAP Arena, beating the rear Ionians with a big 4:1 score. The Almeida players received incredible energy from the 32,000 enthusiastic home supporters and left no room for the enthusiastic visitors to threaten them, although the 25-minute delay to start the match caused considerable annoyance with dozens of smokestacks shutting everything down. The historic first goal was scored by Gacinovic in the 6th minute, who also made it 4-0 in the 65th minute, while Levia Garcia in the 26th minute and Araujo in the 62nd minute scored two other goals in favor of the hosts. The honorary goal for Ionikos was scored by Eleftheriadis in the 93rd minute.

Aside from the impressive victories of AEK and Panaitolikos, Panathinaikos certainly made their mark on matchday with a 2-1 win over PAOK at Toumba. He scored both goals, making it 5 in a row and 7 in total, becoming the league’s top scorer.

Bakabou also scored two goals in Olympiacos’ 2–0 victory over Atromitos, which saw the champions save -7 from leaders Panathinaikos. However, due to an injury, they will miss El Araby for 2-3 weeks, and this is a problem before the match with Karabak.
