Study: Black tea reduces risk of premature death

Consumption Black tea associated with a reduced risk of premature death, according to a new American scientific study. research work.

The greatest risk reduction is seen in those who drink two or more cups of black tea a day.

Researchers led by Dr. Maki Inoue-Choi from the Department of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics at the US National Cancer Institute, who published the corresponding publication in the American medical journal Annals of Internal Medicine, analyzed data on about half a million people aged 40 to 69 years, of which 85% drink tea regularly, 89% of them black tea.

Compared to those who didn’t drink tea at all, those who drank at least two cups of black tea a day had a 9-13% lower risk of death.

The risk reduction was true whether someone drank coffee at the same time, added sugar or milk to tea, drank it hot or cold, etc.

Tea is one of the most widely consumed beverages worldwide. Previous research has linked green tea to a reduction in premature mortality, but a new study shows that black tea also benefits.
