In an Instagram post, Pedro Martins announced the end of his partnership with Olympiacos. The Portuguese coach left the Piraeus team after four years.
He led Olympiacos to three championships and one Cup. The Portuguese coach was sent off the bench after a tough home defeat to Maccabi Haifa in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.
The 52-year-old coach has led Piraeus in 221 matches, with 143 wins, 41 draws and 37 losses in all competitions.
Today my collaboration with Olympiacos ends.
It was 4 years in which we all won titles together, achieved hundreds of victories and many records. Olympiacos once again earned the respect of the world and together we made history as the biggest club in Greece. Together we have awakened the sports giant Piraeus and brought him to a winning momentum.
I leave the Karaiskakis with a proud legacy of the past 4 seasons. I was very pleased to be a part of the history of this great club.
I want to thank all the players and team staff who have worked with me, as well as the fans who have sent me thousands of messages of support. And separately to the President: for trust and faith in our project.
I am leaving a beautiful country that is now part of my life. People who are passionate about football, whom I have always admired. So I close by saying: See you soon Greece!
Thank you all.
