Slovak truckers began blocking a border crossing with Ukraine on Friday to protest competition from Ukrainians, nearly a month after Polish truckers also began a similar protest that has since blocked more than one of Poland’s border crossings with Ukraine. AFP reports.

Corresponding permits were granted for transportation that required entry to EU countries neighboring Ukraine or transit through these countries, but did not grant the right to carry out domestic transportation there. Warsaw and Kyiv are in talks to resolve the crisis, which has caused roadblocks and huge lines of trucks at the border, but so far no agreement has been reached. On Friday, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine announced that it had agreed with the Polish government on some measures that could help ease the situation at the border, but the main demands of Polish carriers were not discussed, as Kyiv does not agree with them.
