The amphibious assault ship “Minsk”, destroyed during the Ukrainian missile attack on the shipyard in Sevastopol, is undergoing repairs to return to service with the Russian Navy, writes TASS.
Referring to an anonymous source in the “VPC”, TASS notes that various compartments of the ship “Minsk” are currently being cleaned and “the volume of future repair work is being assessed.”
We will remind you that the pictures that appeared on the Internet immediately after the attack on September 13 show that the ship has little chance of returning to service with the Russian Navy.
“Visual confirmation now indicates that the Ropucha amphibious assault ship Minsk was destroyed, not simply damaged,” Oryx, a well-known site that tracks casualties on both sides of the war in Ukraine, said at the time.
In addition to the landing craft, the Rostov-on-Don KILO-class submarine was also damaged during the shelling.
“The submarine has minor damage that has not affected the solid hull. Their repair can only slightly increase the time frame for scheduled repairs of the submarine,” writes TASS with reference to the same source.
Last Friday, Ukrainian troops also fired missiles at the headquarters of the Russian Navy in the Black Sea, managing to hit a building in the port city of Sevastopol.
