Ukraine’s military industry is doubling the production of drones, missiles, armored vehicles and artillery shells to face the war of resistance against the Russian invasion, the country’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in his address to the nation on Monday night, EFE reports.

Zelenskyi said this after a meeting with the heads of the Ukroboronprom state-owned arms production enterprise and the heads of its production divisions.

“Artillery “made in Ukraine”. “Made in Ukraine” projects. Drones, missiles, armored vehicles” of Ukrainian production,” Zelenskyy said about the weapons and military equipment prioritized by the national military industry.

“We are increasing production capacity. Ukraine can do it. There is funding for this,” added the head of the Ukrainian state, who expressed hope that “our defense industry will give better results.”

At the end of last week, Zelensky announced that in October, Ukraine would organize an international forum of defense companies to study possible alliances that would lead to an increase in the production of weapons and military equipment.

Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has decided to develop its military industry in order to reduce its dependence on foreign aid in this regard.

Ukrainian-developed aerial and naval drones have demonstrated their effectiveness in recent weeks, reaching Moscow and striking various strategic targets inside Russia, where Kyiv’s Western allies prevent Ukrainian authorities from attacking with Western weapons for fear of provoking an escalation with Moscow.

Ukraine has also successfully developed such missiles as the one that destroyed the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile complex on the occupied Crimean peninsula on August 23.
