But the Russian drones and missiles continued.

Seven people were injured in Dnipro (center-east) as a result of rocket fire on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. As a result of the attack, residential buildings were damaged, the governor of the region said on Thursday.

“At midnight there were loud explosions in the Dnipro. The enemy bombarded the city with rockets,” Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Serhiy Lysak reported on Telegram.

“Seven people, three men and four women, aged from 32 to 55 years old, were injured,” a Ukrainian official said, adding that six victims were hospitalized.

According to the governor, several buildings were damaged, including two residential buildings, a bank, a gas station and a hotel. Lisak said that the damage is still being assessed. On July 29, the Russian army said that the day before it attacked the command post of the Ukrainian army in the Dnipro, where a rocket hit a residential building and injured nine people.

In his speech on Independence Day 2022, Zelensky calls for a “new Ukrainian nation.”

In May, one person was killed and 13 others were injured, including two children, during an attack by Russians on a clinic in the city, the capital of Dnipropetrovsk region, according to authorities.

Last year, on Independence Day, Zelensky declared that Ukraine was reborn when Russia invaded the country on February 24.

“On February 24, at 4 o’clock in the morning, a new people appeared in the world. He was not born, but reborn. A nation that didn’t cry, scream, or get scared. One that didn’t run away. He didn’t give up. And who hasn’t forgotten,” said Zelensky.

The 44-year-old Ukrainian leader made a speech in green military uniform in front of Kyiv’s central monument in honor of independence from the Soviet Union.

“What does the end of the war mean for us? We used to say: peace. Now we say: victory,” said the Kyiv native.
