Iran on Tuesday released images of the Mohajer-10, a new advanced military drone with an impressive range and double the explosive load of the previous model, Reuters reported, citing state media in Tehran.

Iranian authorities claim that the Mohajer-10 has a range of 2,000 kilometers, an autonomy of up to 24 hours and can carry an explosive charge of up to 300 kilograms, double that of its predecessor, the Mohajer-6.

A video released by Iranian media on Tuesday showed the drone next to other military equipment and the message “prepare your shelters” written in Persian and Hebrew.

The release of the tape comes amid a fresh escalation in tensions with Israel, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying on Monday that Tehran funded and encouraged a recent series of deadly attacks on Israeli citizens.

US officials have accused Iran of supplying Russia with Mohajer-6 drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles for the war in Ukraine. The Tehran government denies this, despite ample evidence to the contrary.

The Mohajer-6 drone has the same range as the new model unveiled on Tuesday, but can carry a smaller explosive charge and has an autonomy of only 12 hours.

One such drone crashed on September 23, 2022, in the Black Sea, near the port city of Odessa, after it was used by the Russian armed forces to coordinate an attack with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones, also obtained by Moscow from Tehran.
