On Tuesday, the European Union transferred 1.5 billion euros to Ukraine “to help it maintain a functional state and restore infrastructure,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Twitter.
This payment is part of the EU program of financial assistance to Kyiv for 18 billion euros in 2023.
Ursula von der Leyen sharply condemned Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian grain stores and infrastructure.
“While Russia continues its brutal war, we continue to support Ukraine,” she also wrote, adding that “there will be more,” citing DPA and Agerpres.
I strongly condemn the Russian strikes on the Ukrainian grain storage and export infrastructure.
While Russia continues its merciless war, we continue to support Ukraine.
Today we paid another €1.5 billion to help the state operate and repair infrastructure.
More will come. pic.twitter.com/09aVv5mpIh
