The United States government has information indicating that Russia is behind today’s destruction of a dam in southern Ukraine, NBC News reported, citing three officials.
The Joe Biden administration is working to declassify some of the information and make it public as early as Tuesday afternoon (local time), according to NBC News.
A torrent of water erupted from a large dam on the Dnieper River that separates Russian and Ukrainian forces in southern Ukraine, flooding part of the war zone and forcing residents to flee their homes.
Ukraine blamed Russia for the explosion of the Dnieper dam at Nova Kakhovka, while the Kremlin, on the other hand, claimed that Ukraine had sabotaged the dam.
