NATO has asked Turkey to send a commando unit to Kosovo to control the chaotic situation, and the Turkish Defense Ministry said Turkish commandos would arrive by Monday.
The ministry’s written statement in Ankara on the developments in Kosovo said that Turkey continues to contribute to regional and global peace and stability through the UN, NATO, EU and OSCE missions and its bilateral relations. In this context, the message emphasizes, the events in the Balkans, where there are common historical and cultural values with Turkey, are also closely monitored.
