China will make concrete efforts to politically resolve the Ukrainian crisis, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said today, Saturday, citing Special Envoy Li Hui.

“China has always taken an objective and fair stance on Ukraine, supported the peace and pushed forward the negotiations,” Li told Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Li, China’s Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs and a former ambassador to Moscow, held meetings and talks with Lavrov and the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The two sides exchanged views on Sino-Russian relations and a political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, and agreed that President Xi Jinping’s recent visit to Russia has further deepened mutual political trust, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.

Li’s visit to Russia was the last stop on a multi-country tour that Beijing said was to discuss a “political settlement” of the Ukraine crisis.

Li said China will strengthen dialogue with all parties, including Russia.

“China has always adhered to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, has taken an objective and fair stand, actively promoted peace and negotiations, taken its own stand according to the merits of each issue, and has always stood firmly on the side of peace. and dialogue,” Lee said.

The parties agreed to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral strategic coordination and cooperation in various fields.
